Update Log #96 - Client improvements, new settings, party room, drop changes & a plethora of QoL+Bug fixes

As always, this update log contains any previous ninja logs.





  • You can now pick up all 10 material crates around the Warforge! digsite to find Invention materials;
  • The Praetorium War table can now be entered while the Kharid-et shield pylons are active OR having all 8 Shadow Anchor's activated;
  • With the Pylon active in Kharid-et, players will no longer receive Batteries while excavating;


Combat & related

  • Metal, Celestian & Frost dragons will no longer walk towards the player when in combat;
  • Switching from a magic-type weapon to a non-magic-type will now reset queued Magic spells and the auto-cast spell itself;
  • Added the Level 50 Magic dart spell (Normal spellbook);
  • The Dark Magic aura will no longer work against other Player's;
  • Multiple people 'stomping' strykewyrms should no longer cause them to change to a different NPC version;
  • Gregorovic will now take poison damage;
  • The Player will no longer auto-retaliate/continue attacking when in a hard-locked action (ie. teleporting away);
  • Added some effects to the Strykebow's special attack;


Darkmeyer & related

  • Added the Drakan's Medallion to the vote point store, and made it function-able (can teleport the player to Darkmeyer);
  • Added all NPC spawns in and around the city with their correct combat definitions;
  • Added Ivandis Flail to Lucy's untrade-able's shop. The flail is used to fight the Vampyres in Darkmeyer;
  • You can now chop the Blisterwood tree with level 76 Woodcutting to obtain Blisterwood logs. These logs may be fletched into Blisterwood weaponry (polearm, staff or ranged knives). These weapons are tier 70 and can harm Vampyres in Darkmeyer;


Falador Party Room

  • The Party room is now fully functional with dancing knights and balloon popping;
  • All players may add items to the party room's chest (they'll save through-out server restarts) and once at least 5 items have been added the lever next to it can be pulled (for 1k coins) for the count-down to start;
  • Bigger chest value means higher delay before dropping, bankers through-out the world will also call out drop parties if the sum is large enough.
  • For what it's worth - familiars & pets will be auto-hidden in the party room, and you can also close/shut the chest. Karma the Chameleon will also be following Party Pete around;
  • Ironmen players will not be able to pop balloons;


NPC Drops

  • Changed how the server rolls item drops from NPC's to be more flexible. This change should balance out how drops work throughout the server (ie. previously GWD2 boss drops were beyond hard to get whereas Kalphite King was droping drygores left and right);
  • The examine drop interface will now display 1/X chance to roll on a specific table rather than percentage. The interface will now also display a rough estimate of what you could be expecting to receive from that NPC in 1'000 kills;
  • This change is not final, I'll be monitoring the drops to fine-tune them in the next few days;
  • Moved the Hand Cannon drop from Chaos Dwarf Handcannoneers to the 'Rare' table;
  • Fungal/Grifolic/Ganodermic flakes from Polypore creatures will now drop on every single kill;
  • The Demon Horn Necklace will now properly restore Prayer points when used in conjunction with the Bone crusher crushing Ourg bones;


Custom Settings

  • Made a brand new tab-style interface to handle Velheim's new client settings which can be found under 'Options' -> 'Extra account settings'. The new settings are as follows:
  • The skilling action progress overlay can now be turned on and off (NEW: for both: fixed & resizable screen modes);
  • The potion/(de)buff/special (xp boosts, trial donor, etc.) can now be turned on and off (NEW: for both: fixed & resizable screen modes);
  • Toggle the ability to see other player level, EXP & Combat achievements;
  • Toggle the ability to see other player item drops from ALL sources (includes pets, SoF);
  • Toggle the server hint & top 3 boss killers - messages;
  • Toggle the ability to see other player followers (pets & familiars);
  • Toggle the ability to see other players (really useful for people with low-end PC's to increase their FPS in dense areas);
  • Toggle the ability to see floor items that you cannot interact with (hides items on the ground dropped by/for other players, very useful to ironmen);
  • Moved the 'RS3 combat emotes & stances', 'Virtual levels' and 'Retro skillcapes' options to the new settings menu;



  • The Slayer cape perk will now bring up an interface with all Slayer Master location teleports;
  • Having Slayer VIP tickets will no longer mess up obtaining Slayer tasks (this also fixes the 'Challenge Vannaka' Varrock diary);
  • Frost Dragons can now be killed for the 'Creatures of Daemonheim' Slayer task;


Grand Exchange

  • Added another 10 slots to the Player Listings viewer interface (total of up to 60 most recent offers now can be seen);
  • If 2 players are currently buying OR selling an item at the same price - the first offer to complete will be the oldest put in (queue based, same as RS);
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause some items to not be bought/sold due to an Integer cap (ie. uncut dragonstones weren't buying before);


Group Ironman

  • Members of a group can now claim the leader role if their group's leader hasn't logged in for over 14 days. The role can then be transfered to any other member of choice;
  • Clicking on any random or open group will now display when the members have last been logged on.



  • Prepared a little event for Thanksgiving, nothing major though - just angry turkeys!
  • Logging in on the 26th November will automatically unlock the 'Give Thanks' emote;
  • The event it-self will start automatically on the 25th and run until the 28th;



  • Replaced the default revision 718 toolbelt with a simple custom-made interface;
  • Players will now be able to see all of their tool-belted items, even upgraded ones (like pickaxes for example). This should help clear confusion from new'er players;
  • Pickaxes & Hatchets can now directly be removed from the tool-belt interface;
  • Items that can be configured (ie. seedicide, bonecrusher) will be able to be configured directly from that interface;



  • Dropped un-trade-able items in the Wilderness will now stay up for 3 minutes rather than just 1 minute. Also made items that can go to Diango's storage to go there first;
  • All Parasols can now be stored with Diango;
  • Increased the maximum 'Players Online' count from 100 to 200 (since we hit 100 just a few days ago (it was set to 100 because I never thought we'd get this far..)) and made it so if we EVER reach 200 online then people would no longer be able to log in instead of logging and not 'loading';
  • Made a new custom interface to handle ALL teleports that are item-based, and refactored all old dialogue options to use that new interface for all jewellery;
  • Spiced up the new player starter kit. The new given items can also be purchased from Lucy's un-trade-able's;
  • You will now get the correct amount of Daily Challenges if you haven't logged in for a few days;
  • Bonus EXP will no longer get used when the player has 200m EXP in the skill;
  • Added the Magic Watering can to the Vote point store. It can now be used to water plants, or sapplings, without filling it with water and can be added to your tool-belts;
  • Added new client shortcuts for: Home teleporting (CTRL + H) and teleportation menu opening (CTRL + T);
  • Removed the requirement of having at least 25 free inventory slots to open an Ancient casket, all excess items will now drop onto the ground;
  • Due to high request - moved the Masterwork Spear of Annihilation requirement from regular to trimmed Completionist cape;
  • Owned pets (while browsing the 'All pets' section in the Pet Storage interface) will now display in green and unowned pets - in red;
  • Replaced the Diamond Donator zone Prayer altar with the Chaos altar (it will still grant maximum EXP boost when using ashes/bones on it);
  • Reduced the amount of bolts you get from Mystery boxes, and added chinchompas to the reward table;
  • Ironmen will no longer receive free Mystery boxes from Vote parties;
  • The Firemaking cape (Artisans, Max, Comp capes) will now work as a light source if equipped as well as yield better rewards from Fire spirits;
  • Fixed screen mode players will no longer suffer from options not displaying properly when right-clicking things that are on the lower side of the client;
  • Daily Challenge coin reward has been reduced from 5m to a random value in between 1-2m per completed challenge seeing as so many people make alts to farm the daily challenge rewards and trade them over to their main accounts;
  • Bonds will now become un-trade-able when purchased/traded/picked-up (from anyone other than you)/gifted to ensure people do not merch/flip them. To make the un-trade-able versions be trade-able again players will have to pay a fee of 10% of the current Grand Exchange's price value. This functionality was replicated from RS;
  • Made all of the 'scroll-type' default interfaces re-size their scroll-bar to match the contents of the actual text;
  • The maximum allowed connections per address reduced from 10 to 5;



  • Castle Wars flags will now properly de-register when picked up from the ground, also made them walk-through-able;
  • Bright Wisp rift will now have the 'Enter cache' option whenever the Guthixian cache starts;
  • Corrected the Pyromaniac Invention perk trigger chance;
  • Fixed using Magic Notepaper on Color Dye's (would remove all your paper in exchange for a re-colored cape);
  • The Globetrotter Jacket teleport will now send the player to the correct tile instead of randomizing it causing in weird behavior;
  • Leaving Pyramid Plunder will no longer reset player's attributes;
  • You can once again infuse Runecrafting Tiara's;
  • Corrected Flickering Wisp harvest XP;
  • Your chat-box will no longer get spammed with 'Finish existing urn before starting new' if you don't have fresh urn's in your inventory;
  • Tears of Seren will now correctly recharge all player's dragonstone jewellery charges;
  • Clan chat admins+ can now temp-ban joined guests and existing clan members from their clan chat channels;
  • Fixed an issue that caused some repair-able items to not reset their charges upon repair resulting in items breaking almost immediately after using them;
  • Fidelio in Canifis can now be traded to open up the General Store;
  • The Abyssal vine whip no longer requires level 85 Attack to wield;
  • Fletching arrow shafts from regular bows will now once again yield 15 shafts per log rather than 1;
  • Trade interface's 'Add-X' and 'Remove-X' options now function correctly;
  • Protean Traps will now only grant failed catch EXP if the player has the Hunter level for that creature;
  • Creating Overload Salve's will now require an Antifire potion;
  • Corrected all instances of the word 'Burthrope' to 'Burthorpe' throughout the server;
  • Clan Chat and Guest Clan Chat colors will now save on re-log;
  • The 'I have killed X Bosses' quick chat option will now correctly display how many boss kills the player has;
  • Dyed Ascension weapons can now be repaired.

Love the changes! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to making this server the best it can be. I've been trying to invite folks I know to join us. 

One more QOL change that would be much appreciated if I could suggest it, would be the different camera modes in RS3. Freedom, freedom classic, etc. 

Hope to see you all in game gaining those levels!
