This guide is ironman friendly, and also used for getting a bullseye lantern for the Falador Medium Achievement Diary.

A Bullseye lantern is a light source item which can illuminate darkened areas. It is made by lighting a bullseye lantern (oil), which requires 49 Firemaking.
It can be extinguished to give back the unlit lantern. It requires 20 Smithing to make the steel frame and 49 Crafting to make the glass lens.

The Lamp oil used for fuel is obtained by distilling swamp tar in the chemist's house in Rimmington.
This will create a bullseye lantern (oil). After filling the lantern with Lamp oil a player must left-click "Light" to light the lantern.

STEEL FRAME (BULLSEYE LANTERN FRAME)

Spoiler

By having the level of 20 in the Smithing skill, you will be able to make the Steel frame.
Use your anvil, proceed by clicking the steel bar (requires a iron bar and coal bar to make, at the furnace).

First click on the steel bar as shown in the purple square inside the Core Metals section. Then scroll all the way down on the right side (Smithables section), till you find the Bullseye lantern shown in the purple rectangle in the Smithables section. Proceed by clicking the second picture to make it.

LANTERN LENS

Spoiler

By having a level of 49 in the Crafting skill, you will be able to make the Lantern lens.
Use a glassblowing pipe (inside your toolbelt) with molten glass (as shown in the first picture), scroll all the way to the right, till you find the Lantern lens.
Then click on it to start crafting the Lantern lens (as shown in the second picture, with the purple square).

FINAL TOUCHES

Spoiler

After you have made the Steel frame and the Lantern lens, proceed by using either of them on each other (you can get a Sapphire or Emerald gem aswell and put inside first, to either get a Sapphire Lantern or Emerald Lantern, but I decided not to put this inside the guide, as it is not necessary).

Then head to Rimmighton inside the Chemist's house (check the how to get there section to find out how to get there*). This part requires for the player to have a level of 49 in the Firemaking skill, to be able to complete the final touches.

When you get there use your Swamp tar on the Lamp oil still (as shown in the left picture), and then your your Bullseye lantern on the Lamp oil still (as shown in the right picture).

You will then have the option to light it up (as shown in the left picture). After clicking on the light option, you will now have your finished product. (as shown in the right picture).
