Locked The State of Archaeology

Hello everyone,

 

There are a few things I would like to discuss in regards to Arch that hopefully someone can answer clearly.

Let us start with the discussion of the Relics and the amount of Power we have.

It appears that the standard amount of power from ranking up with the guild is in place which would leave us with a max of 500 power.

From what I've gathered it does not seem possible to acquire the upgrade to increase that limit to 650 which without it, heavily limits your choices in Relics.

To have either Heightened Senses or Conservation of Energy together with Luck of the Dwarves is 550 alone.

 

On that note, it brings me to my next subject, the Relics available to us.

Not every Relic is usable on the monolith as there seems to be a specific list of them available.

Of the ones listed within the monolith not all of them seem to be acquirable.

I've attempted to get both Divine Conversion and Conservation of Energy which are both listed on the Relic but am not able to get the blueprints from the Stormguard Citadel nor are they listed on the Invention workbench.

Am I meant to assume that if they are listed on the monolith they are meant to be acquirable?

If not than why have them listed while most others aren't even listed at all?

 

I would just like some clarity on all of this so I know what I can actually work towards without wasted effort.

Power:  99% sure this is just broken in general. I have guild master on a few accounts and they all still display 500 max, but running them at 600/500 power and all the relic powers still work, would need @Sandstorm (get tagged bruh) to confirm whether or not this is a graphical bug or if power has no effect what so ever.

Most likely something that wont effect you for a while since I don't see the methods to unlocking the 2 powers you want to use being added particularly anytime soon, archaeology tends to be low on the list of priorities. 

 

'Most others aren't even listed at all' (kekw) there are only 9 not listed from the 30 powers not listed.

  •  with 4 of them being for abilities and would require tweaking (the one to reduce surge cd don't need adding at all and the others would just me more methods to save/restore spec, Zzz.. But if it makes pvm players to call for a skilling update, I wont argue =D ) 
  • 2 of them being newer ones from the October 2020 update on rs3 (orthen) and
  • 1 of them being useless because pouches don't degrade anyway
  • 2 others that are not added for what ever the undisclosed reason is since we have the steps to get them but not use them (3rd slayer task choice and increased rep power), my best guess is rep is already super easy to get and the slayer one being semi-pointless since we can reset tasks an unlimited amount of times for coins (or free with velheim perk). 

Iirc Sand said if they are on the monolith is means that he coded them the relic power in and 'works' but, it does not necessarily mean that they are obtainable because archaeology has not seen any major update (unless you count howls as major) since been released into the server other than a few mysteries/powers being added along the way since it's such a vast skill.

This is exactly the kind of response I was looking for, thank you very much Sprout.

It's been frustrating, to say the least, to get any answers from people in game and to be frank I did not have the energy to test everything after working 10 hours a day.
It would definitely be nice to get some clarification on the Power limit and any insight on if some of the other PvM perks would be in the works.

I really honestly don't know a whole lot about Archeology to begin with in order to make a meaningful response, mostly all I can say is that I do think it's a subject that does need to be looked at.  Big thanks to Sprout for the detailed response.  You can always count on him :)
