  1. Give the rune shops some love, currently you will not get even an hours worth of pvming doing a rune shop run.

There's some possibilites to how to implement this:

    1. Just flat out boost all shops, maybe even increase price too, as this will probably only affect ironman gamemodes, so it's costly but will get you back into whatever content you're maging.

    2. Make a custom rune shop @ home, dz or ddz that sells an increased amount of runes per day.

    3. Custom shop, which increases stock based on account progression ie. comp reqs done, total lv etc

    4. Add 5k blood/water barrage casts to store for 1-2$ ea (yes, im desperate for runes)

  2. In-Game users you'll see me on:

    Asgardian - ironman

    Blackcoffee - classic

    Asghard - hardcore ironman

    Whitecoffee - regular

    Date of Birth:

    31st December 1994

    27 years old

    Country & Time Zone:

    Denmark

    About me:

    Name: Frederik or just Fred

Occupation: Bit of everything that has to do with a welding/mounting of all kinds of steel. I am an employee in my fathers company, where i do a bit of everything, i have however started to get more into the office, where i'm writing up documents and user manuals for machines/equipment we design and construct ourselves. Soon i'll also be learning SolidWorks to design equipment too.

Daily life: Last year i bought a house with my girlfriend, now fiancee, which we used close to 3 months renovating, and now we're waiting for our twins to arrive come August. I also have a daughter from an earlier relationship, i have her every 2nd weekend. When i'm not at home getting my gaming chair sweaty, i'm most likely with family or friends doing something active, i've started playing padel tennis like once every month, which i'm having alot of fun with.

Interests: Gaming in general. Velheim is probably the game i spend the most time on, and recently started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 since buying myself a much needed PS5 (fiancee may disagree on that one) :D When playing with friends i'm mostly fumbling around in Rocket League (gold 2 btw). Hogwarts Legacy is also a game i'm definitely looking forward to! Outside of gaming i love being in my workshop here at my house. Making birdhouses for our garden or crates my fiancee can decorate with or whatever comes to mind, i'm still working up some experience to make larger more intricate stuff :D I'm also into motorbikes, but i sold my old Yamaha Virago 650 last year, and really looking for a new project to get home and make my own, when theres money for it again!

    Achievements on Velheim:

Trimmed Completionist cape on Asgardian and i believe i was the first ironman to do this too

Completionist cape on Whitecoffee (no longer, as i've paused this account to play on Asghard, and i'm only missing the recently added achievement diaries)

Maxed Classic account blackcoffee, and slowly working towards completionist and trimmed completionist!

First cHaOs title on a Hardcore ironman account

Fastest recorded Shadow reef solo run on Asgardian (as far as i know)

First to complete Shadow reef collection log on an Ironman, second overall

Im sure there's more, but these are the ones i remember, on the top of my head.

Why should we choose you to became part of the team?:

I joined Velheim in April 2019, after quitting RS3 for around 4 months, but really having an itch to play a RS3 esque game. And it instantly caught my attention, i then proceeded to play for around 1-1.5yrs before having a small hiatus of around 6 months, i then came back and havn't left since!

I believe i am, for the most part, liked by a large amount of the community, and havn't really got any members i am not on good terms with (as far as i know). I try to be positive towards everyone, and help where i can. I know i banter around in the friends chat and use sarcasm a fair bit, but i try to keep it with people i've already spoken to, so new players don't get the wrong view of me.

Any past history of being staff:

I have never been staff on any RSPS, mostly because i get bored, and quit after a couple months playing. Which is why after all this time, as i'm not seeing myself leaving Velheim any time soon, i thought i'd give it a try with a staff application.

How long have you been in the RS(PS) scene:

My oldest Runescape account is 16 close to 17 years old. We had a small group in school playing together and just being noobs together exploring. They eventually quit and i proceeded to play, quit around eoc release and started again 2 years after, i then grinded my account to max and quit again. Started an ironman and played for a couple months, then quit and found Velheim which itched my RS3 scratch :D

I've tried too many RSPS's to even remember close to near half of them.

If accepted, what would you do to help the server:

I'd probably not change too much. I'm very much into the PvM scene and enjoy improving strategies to make kills as fast as possible and just collecting loot en masse in my bank :D But i would definitely be more outgoing, teaching newer players with the same mindset of bossing how to get around PvM'ing on Velheim, and just generally giving out tips on how to best tackle the adventure Velheim is!

I also believe i have some good ideas to improve and better Velheim and would love to talk about future updates with the ones in charge! I have been a decent part of fixing bugs and small stuff in the beginning when i joined, and loved reading every new update log with all the fixes i brought along, seeing my bug reports and suggestions making an impact on the game.

I've also considered making some updated guides for bosses and skills/areas that are commonly being asked about in friends chat. But as i have no experience in video making, i'm working up some spare time to start looking into it

    Total Time Played:

    Asgardian - 3134 hours  Blackcoffee - 1691 hours  Whitecoffee - 1692 hours  Asghard - 569 hours

    image.png.19090992c1283beddf52844854263883.pngimage.png.8fa50ea180438ce2c2db887dc3d1250b.pngimage.png.9a11dc0ca2feb7722630970d93ac3efc.pngimage.png.b7a0e14e8ce7302e00028b54f06fc8be.png

I'd say i'm probably on Velheim for around 20-30 hours per week on average - not counting doing afk activities when at work.

    Closing notes:

Thank you very much for reading! I hope i'm considered for this position, and can't wait to hear back from you! No matter the outcome, rest assured i will continue my journey here on Velheim.

Very good effort, even more that you survived your hc status too :D

I'll deffo be going for this log one day as I love the title!

    Good job buddy.

Yea, now it's just surviving all the pvm i have to do moving forward :D

GL! It's a boring task after the first few thousand kc, and i think i got quite lucky on the drops i needed!

    Thanks a lot!

  4. Started a HCIM with the main goal of completing the Chaos elemental log as the first hcim. Yesterday i did it! So i thought i'd share some stats on this grind.

    image.png.bb7601daf8517885982db7c048770a55.png

    Revenant kills:

    Imp 967

    Goblin 1686

    Hobgoblin 603

    Ork 535

    Pyrefiend 526

    Icefiend 570

    Vampyre 603

    Hellhound 605

    Demon 557

    Werewolf 615

    Knight 480

    Dark beast 553

    Dragon 545

    For a total of 8845kc

Almost all kills were done on task, I completed 4 emblems, and almost a 5th (T8 pictured in loot) equalling close to 150 tasks of revenants.

Strategy was to block as many wilderness tasks as possible, only had Revenants, Abyssal demons, Lava strykewyrms and Kalgerion demons left that i could get as tasks, so i didn't have to reroll too much to get a Revenants task.

    Loadout / inventory

I started out with proselyte armour, whip+barrows defender then upgraded to dual khopeshs, until i got around 20 items on the log. Took a break for like a month, then returned with a few upgrades; ghosthunter, ccb and ancient repriser. Kills were way faster, and i eventually finished it out.

    Loot

    Artefacts sold for 25m

Cash from pure kills was around 40-50m

Not pictured here, are a superior Zuriel's armour set, superior Vesta's spear and superior Vesta's longsword and 2 revenant spirit drops (pet)

image.png.506f607d1be7af72e8d2b11edfd490fd.png Items in red are corrupt

Last item i needed was Statius platelegs, went around 35 tasks from my 2nd last item which was Morrigans leather chaps, till i got the Statius platelegs drop!

Had around 4 Corrupt statius platelegs before i got the regular ones. Including a pair a few kills before i finished pictured below.

    image.png.dd43fb80e1fedfd36ef2e4b86f9eeb8e.png

Encountered around 4-5 people trying to pk me, but all lives remain intact, no deaths at all (yet :D)

    Time spend

My best guesstimate is  around 15-20 hours, could've been faster if i had went for the ghosthunter + range strat before starting out.

  5. The release of Player-owned-farms brought alot of new items to grind, alot to figure out and things to try, however i think some improvements could be made. I totally understand this was a huge undertaking, and Sandstorm is probably keeping a close eye on how it's rolling out and tweeking it as we're going.

The timing for raising and breeding animals seems off; even with the 25% decrease from rs3. I havn't done alot of farming on rs3, as the last time i played was around it's release and a few months after. But it doesn't really feels like it's any faster from what i remember. (and some animals seem to not breed at all, but i've made a bug report on that matter)

Make honeycomb produce 1/2 time of rs3 (30 mins per)

Remove already unlocked upgrades from the farmers market. It can be hard to remember which unlocks you have, when having multiple accounts.

Show the eggs in the paddocks if animals are in - Right now you have to run around to all your paddocks and check if you have animals in them, if they're still on the egg stage.

A new PoF-related perk would be nice - Faster growing and breeding animals, being adolescent for a longer period of time than usual, bigger odds of making a unique offspring, chance of more produce and better traits chance are just some of the things that could be a nice QoL for a PoF perk.

A bit unrelated to PoF, but was really hoping that grapevine farming would've been pushed with this update, would be such a nice addition to getting sara wines from anything else than master caskets and telos for irons, and mains not having to pay 15k per wine for that matter.

  6. And now we try. This is for people who are interested in participating in the PvM League that i talked about a bit ago (topic 4928 if you havnt seen it yet). Some people were very interested, and some not so much.

To make it as diverse and fun as possible, the more contestants the better! And to be frank, if we do not get enough players, i think we will either cut down on the winnings, or choose to wait to do it, till more people are ready to join, so make sure to spread the word to in-game friends or clanmates, and let's get a nice showing. If fewer than 10 people are signing up, i think we will do another try later on, even tho i really want to get this thing on it's wheels, and hopefully keep doing them. There is still no set date, we will try and pinpoint a matching time for as many people as possible, and see where it goes from there.

But alas! If YOU are ready to have a fun time doing some PvM and maybe rolling your lucky dice, sign up! And be sure to have read the original topic.

I see your concerns for practicality, but I'm just calling it now, I think a Classic will end up winning most of the prizes and you'll have people claiming it as unfair since they have a pretty large advantage. Which is valid because it genuinely isn't fair at that point.

Classic droprate is highly overexaggerated in a contest like this. In the end it will come down to how many players are participating, in how quickly the drops will be gotten. You can't really use droprate increase as a huge factor, when just a single drop is needed from XXX boss per round. In the end it's all down to rolling a dice and getting lucky, not to mention it is totally free to enter, and you can't lose anything by participating. In the end it's just about having fun and gathering some people for a fun hour or two hunting specific drops, and if you get lucky, you'll win a handsome amount of money.

Sounds like a great idea. However, game modes should be separated to keep things equal due to some game modes having boosted drop rates. If they're not separated, the wins are nearly guaranteed to go to classic players that already have stellar gear to get quick kills. Also, GWD2 bosses (including Telos unless you restrict it to starting at a low enrage) should be excluded too since players that have already done a lot of PVM will have an advantage there with the boosted rates. Other than those two things, this sounds like a good event idea.

Although this may be a possibility, it would require a larger prize pool and atleast +5 players of ea gamemode to even start making it competable, otherwise the chance of the entire prize going to 1-2 people would be way too large.

  9. PvM League: LIVE!

This is an idea! No event is planned yet, so no need to write your ig-name on this post! A seperate post will be made if the event has enough interest!

Quick disclaimer: This is a quick write-up, and changes to rules and how the event is going to be played out, is subject to change. But this is the event in it's rough form as it stands right now.

    When: xx/xx-2022

Length of event: Approximately 1-2 hours depending on how many participants and how quickly drops are obtained. Will roughly go for 6-8 rounds.

Participation: Everyone can participate! All you have to do is add your IG-name at the bottom of this post!
Once the event starts, all participants will join in the PvM Leagues friends-chat, where the bosses and drops to get are announced on the day.

Rules: You may only participate with ONE account. One player per boss-instance eg. you can't have 1 participant, and a clan member, friend or anyone else in same instance hunting for a drop. (Unless more players for a boss is specified)
I will try to get some of the moderators to help monitor this; and checking instances to make sure these terms are abided by, and if a player is caught, will be banned from the competition and any further events. NO excuses.

Gear: Any set of gear, potions, Beast of burden and aura is allowed! It's entirely up to each player to choose what to use, wether it be mage, range or melee setups!

Rewards: The combined rewards will be 5B gp as of now. Each round of the bosses will have their own cash reward, increasing the further we go, and the harder bosses we get to.
(this is subject to change/increase, if anyone wants to donate to the League)

Example of a round of PvM League:
10 participants are ready, and the boss called out is Nex! Target: Get any piece of Torva! Reward: 500m gp
Once a piece of torva has been recieved as a drop, there will be a 5min wait for the next callout, so that everyone has a chance to get something to drink/eat and get gear ready for the next boss.

Updates will follow on when we will be doing this event, if enough people are interested in participating! If you want to help me manage this event, donate to the prize pool or have some good ideas to make it even more interesting; reach out to me either in-game or on discord: Asgardian#6517

    Hope to see you there!

  10. Been following you since the day you started pretty much, and you are definitely one of the quickest learners i've had the pleasure of teaching stuff here on Velheim. Absorbing the knowledge of others and putting it to best use, and even using it to further teach newcomers the ropes.

Also, as a person you are just really likeable and are very active and outgoing with others.

Velheim definitely deserves you as a staff member, no doubts about it. I'll be crossing my fingers that i see a trial for you soon!

  11. Kong my man. Great intro, even learned a fair few new bits about you!

We've been playing together pretty much since you joined, so i know a bit about you as a person, but even more how quickly you adapted to Velheim and it's challenges! Good work!

I hope you'll stay around to keep grinding every content there is, old and new!

  12. Going 1598kc for 2drops of an item that is supposed to be 1/50, with the first chitin on 1040kc, just ain't fun. Experienced that first hand on my ironman. Now i am ~500kc in on my classic account, and i have 0 perfect chitins; but multiple of every other drop (not including pet ofc)

Compare this to every other defender drop which you will have in approximately 10-20kc, i just don't see what makes the chitin so wildly rare for some people.

This item is so weirdly spread out on droprates. Someone finishes all 3 perfect chitins in sub 200kc, while others; including myself, goes insanely dry on it and needs to camp kk for 40 hours.

Let's make it a guaranteed drop on 100/250 or whatever kc seems fitting, where you're able to say you've probably "earned" it by now. As i can see newer players already fearing the grind of 1k+ KK kills for this item.

  13. Could also increase the pure ess you get when mining according to donator rank eg. 2x with sapph, 3x with emerald and so on. Would actually make it worthwhile to mine it when you're in the late game and have reached higher donor rank, but still, probably only really an update for ironmen, as regular accounts can buy it cheap from GE. Otherwise the Runspan shop is an okay idea.

Sara wines is a pain to get a decent amount of, but adding in grapevine farming would solve this, so here's to hoping it'll get added with the 120 farm final update.

And the summoning part i can't really see the problem in, most items for the familiars you actually use are gathered through playing and the 1k hides per day helps a decent amount on getting xp past 99. It would just be a niche to add a few items per day for familiars that aren't used anyways.
