  10. So the other day, someone joined and asked tons of questions, as if they had never played an RSPS before. I talked to them, and it turns out they had never even played RuneScape before! So this is a shoutout to those of you who have never heard of these games. This goes without saying, this post isn't totally necessary, however I would like to create that level of knowledge and trust between new players and existing. A lot of older players think everything is totally easy, and instantly memorable. And forget that they were once new players as well. What is entirely easy to you, could very well be the most difficult thing someone else has ever done before. Firstly, what is RSPS? RuneScape Private Server. These are Private Servers hosted usually by an individual, however sometimes they can be owned and run by a collective. These people are usually close friends or acquaintances. Business partners, or simply like minded developers. RS is developed by a company. The main differences between RS and RSPS differ by which servers you play, however the main consensus (atleast for what i can tell) is that most people play RSPS because they are generally easier/faster than original RS. However, there are many MANY more reasons people play RSPS. I personally play RSPS because I feel the communities are a lot better, kinder, more wholesome people. Some more reasons could include better PK'ing, more transparency between staff and players, or even something mundane as they got scammed and quit RS but still love the game itself. That's not to say that reason is unvalid however, anyone can play RSPS for any reason and you don't have to have one to play. Also, just because RSPS is generally easier, doesn't mean the work and time you put in means less, it just means you play a game you love and you're proud of that. The main thing to keep in mind is that not everyone plays games at the same level/mentality, and alot of people just want to have fun. RSPS has existed almost as long as RS itself, and there are SO many different versions and iterations of RSPS. Some examples include VELHEIM (REDACTED). VELHEIM (REDACTED) and even VELHEIM (REDACTED). (If you couldn't tell this was a joke about advertising, don't do that, it's a big no no!) RSPS are made using the programming languages such as Java (not JavaScript), C#, PHP and database languages such as SQL. Every RSPS will advertise the revision the game currently loads. It's a little tough for me to explain, but for starters, the revision is basically the time at which the server is based in RuneScapes history. (That's a VERY butchered explanation.) Here is a list of currently popular revisions. Most RSPS players identify by which revision they love the most, however some players just love the idea of RSPS in general, and don't mind which revision they play. Most RSPS only have a lifespan of 3-10 years, however that's not to say they can't live much longer than that! There are countless servers that have existed for years and are going strong, or only have a few players, yet remain online. Nearly every server that has ever existed has some form of donation method in place, and this is for a variety of reasons. Most servers require third party activities, such as forum hosting as well as the server itself. If a server has multiple worlds, there's a good likelihood that the owner is paying for multiple hosting services at once, and while they aren't egregiously expensive, that money DOES add up. Not to mention the time that some of these developers put in. A server is only going to be as good and enjoyable as the developers dedication to it itself. No matter what you think you know about coding, do not discredit developers for the time and work they put in. Some update daily, some update weekly and some don't update at all. Velheim for example receives very steady updates by our lord and savior, @Jesu... ahem, excuse me, @Sandstorm The levels of work and time some of these developers put in could be anywhere from just a few lines and minutes a day, to a full time job, coding almost 100 hours a week. It's for these reasons donations are very important, as some developers give up the "job" life all together in order to make the game better for us. All RSPS consists of some kind of leadership, even beyond the Owner/Developer. Most have an Owner/Co-owner/Developer, then the ladder usually goes down to Administrator, then Moderator, then Support. However all RSPS are different, and what the staff decide to do is entirely up to them. I've owned a few myself, and all of which didn't have admins, (atleast officially) everyone was just a Mod. Including myself. These folks are usually active on the game/forums/discord either daily or weekly and will generally help new players and old as much as possible, however it's important to keep in mind that these ARE people too! These people are just as much players and anyone else, and should not be subjected to hate from others when they cannot get to everyone. You have to keep in mind, nobody is obligated to answer your questions. The wiki does exist. Which brings me to my next point, and this may apply specifically to Velheim, however some RSPS do have it as well. On here, you can ;;wiki anything that exists on the wiki itself. Go ahead, try it, it will bring you to the page you were looking for, sometimes even if you spell something wrong, the wiki might automatically direct you to what you were looking for. It's a very handy tool, and as a general rule, you should ;;wiki whatever you have questions about before asking a staff member/fellow player, out of respect. Then after which, if you had a hard time understanding the wiki, go ahead and ask. This is not an official rule, this is my personal recommendation for players who are new. We don't want to bother people and make them feel like they get asked questions all day, but we ALSO want to make sure that you have the appropriate resources you need to get by. If you don't understand the wiki, that's perfectly okay! Don't ever let someone make you feel bad or dumb for not understanding something you know nothing about, RSPS and RS are very large games with a plethora of content to sift through, it is absolutely understandable to get overwhelmed by the amount of information intake. Be respectful when you ask questions, and try to thank whoever helps you, a little kindness goes a long way, that being said. To all the question answerers: Be patient with people and make sure to be forgiving and understanding when someone doesnt respond to you the way that you want them too/expect them too. Every single person is different and every single person has something going on in their lives, perhaps they didn't say thank you with a smiley face because they just had a relative die. Just try to remember that just because they didn't thank you, doesn't mean they arent thankful. Every server has a list of rules, which vary depending on which server you play and who you ask, but it's very important to follow these rules. For many reasons. Be kind to others and read through them, and you should have nothing to worry about. I'd also like to point out something for new and old players alike. When it comes down to it, the owner of the server owns everything. Including your account, and for that reason they can decide to do whatever they would like to regarding your account. The owner has the final say on everything, and this isn't an arguing point. This is FACT. Cold, hard facts. That being said, it doesn't mean ALL owners will treat you like absolute garbage. @Jesu... Damnit i did it again. @Sandstormis actually an AMAZING owner, developer AND person. That's what he is, a person, subject to anger, sadness and happiness. Don't expect special treatment, good or bad from him. He does his best to make this game playable and enjoyable for EVERYONE. The RSPS community is generally amazing, and full of some of the best characters you'll ever meet. I've met some of the best friends I've ever had in my life playing RSPS, and I'm sure you will too! PS> This is something I'm VERY willing to change up, or add too if anyone feels anything else should go here. Just let me know! I'm almost 100% certain I will add more to this eventually, for now however, I need to get back to grinding!
  11. Hello everyone! My name is Agnes! I joined in fall of 2020, so I'm atleast relatively old to the server. I do have quite a bit to learn yet though, as I stopped playing for a while and a lot has changed! I am 22 years old, my name is Happy (Legally) and I am transgender! I have something like 500-600 hours played across multiple accounts, though now i exclusively play on my Group Iron Man account, "Iron Agnes". I try to be as friendly as I possibly can, as well as helpful to newcomers. Seeing the server succeed is important to me because the more players we have, the more fun it will be for me! That being said, I'm certainly not immune to frustration. If I say something, or do something to make you upset, kindly let me know and I will do whatever I can to rectify that situation. Also, I am very much a tattle tale. If you come to me with advertising links, they are going directly to Sandstorm and that will be your doom I try to answer as many questions as i possibly can, and soon here I will be making some more guides for the forums. Most likely directed towards new players. Though, I'm sure they wont be as nice and detailed as @Arcadiez guides! If you see me in game, feel free to say hi, ask any questions or just hang out! "Do we quit too Raggy?" "No Scoob, friends don't quit."
  12. I made these almost a full year ago! Can't wait to do more
  13. Hello and welcome to my Beginners guide to Cosmetics. So the past few weeks I've noticed some people not using cosmetics, or wondering how to do so. I've had people ask me where I get my armor, I've had people ask how to use this feature of the game so here we go. To begin with, you can look at your cosmetics by clicking the Tab. Next, click Inside your game chat it will bring up the following interface Lets begin with Cosmetic Overrides. Below is the interface that should show up. If you own a cosmetic, it will be highlighted Green. If you do not own it, it will remain the orangish color it already is. On the top left of the interface are five buttons. (From left to right) The first button on the left will display each FULL outfit. The middle left button will display the cosmetics you OWN. The middle right button will display keepsaked items that you own The right button (The wing) will let you pick the color of your cosmetics. The far right button will reset your cosmetics You can pick the individual slot (such as your helmet or platebody) to mix and match different cosmetic outfits by clicking on the slot you wish wear a cosmetic on. The and slots do not have any active cosmetics. The slot carries cosmetics such as wings, gazes and auras You can buy cosmetic items with 50 Velheim coins. Next lets talk about Cosmetic animations These work exactly the same way as Cosmetic items but they cost different amounts. You can these at any point, as well as them. Here are a few cosmetic outfits I use. I encourage you to look through this, there are over 1000 total cosmetics, which means that there's literally millions of combinations.
  14. This is so cool and cute and ahhhhhh!! I can't wait to see all this!
  15. Hello. Welcome to my beginners guide to Prifddinas! In this guide I will be going over a few of the following; The clans within the city. The skilling plots The NPC's and available activities Let's start. Prifddinas, (pronounced prive-THEE-nuss) is the greatest city of the elves and the capital city of Tirannwn. It is located just north of Isafdar. The city is the oldest surviving settlement on Gielinor, being created in the First Age, and is made entirely of crystal. Due to the Elven Civil War, the entire city was reverted to crystal seed form, but is reformed during the Plague's End quest. As such, Plague's End is a requirement to visit the city. (Taken directly from the RuneScape Wikia) The city is built over a large crater, and is mostly formed from the shattered crystal of Seren's beings, built by the eight Elven Clans. The city was initially constructed after the elves arrived in Gielinor from Tarddiad during the First Age. It was divided into eight equally sized districts, one for each of the clans who helped build the city. Seren gave each clan a shard of her being to craft into clan towers which remain a prominent feature of the city. Each district has two primary skills associated with it, and the clan the district belongs to, which dictates the various training methods and activities found within. Certain districts have training methods not typically associated with their clans, such as the Meilyr Clan having Dungeoneering and Herblore-related methods, the Trahaearn Clan having Mining and Smithing-related methods, and the Ithell Clan having Crafting and Construction-related methods. A feature known as the Voice of Seren can affect two districts at a time, changing which two it affects every hour. It provides a number of benefits, such as increased experience and an increased chance for golden rocks and crystal implings. The districts it is currently benefiting can be seen by the symbols in the upper-left corner of the screen. (Taken directly from the RuneScape Wikia) (Also the Voice of Seren is not currently a working game mechanic and may or may not be added in the future) (Image taken directly from the RuneScape WIkia) So, Lets begin with the Tower of Voices! The Tower of Voices is the "Hub" for Prifddinas, it carries the Lodestone, as well as the majority of the banks and GE's. The following can be found in The Tower of Voices; Player owned ports portal Daemonheim Portal Solomon Challenge Mistress Heriau Wise Old Man Event Noticeboard Rhobert Dail (Herbs) Four (4) Grand Exchange Clerks Two (2) Bank Clerks Staircase that leads to second floor Crystal Tree Patch (Currently does not work) Large Bonfire Crwys (Woodcutting & Farming) The Crwys Clan is located north-east of the Tower of Voices, off the eastern path. It is primarily based on the Farming and Woodcutting skills, and is led by Lord Crwys. It features: Crwys workers to pickpocket at 97 Thieving can be found scattered around the district. The Crwys herald can be found in the Crwys tower, and sells the Clan Crwys cape. An elder tree patch, usable at 90 Farming, can be found in the north eastern part of the district. It is watched over by Sior and Afenen. When farmed for the first time it will unlock the "of the Crwys" title. A spirit tree, watched over by Glouron the gnome can be found to the south east. Four magic trees can be found to the east of the Tower of Voices and five yew trees can be found on the platform directly north of it. Lord Crwys and a bank chest can be found on the north western platform, in addition to a number of other features. A greenhouse can be found in the south west, which contains ivy growing on the walls around it. Coeden the ent can also be found in the greenhouse, and runs a farming shop selling seeds and saplings. A bush patch and a herb patch can be found to the north east, watched over by Briallen and Eirlys. A compost bin can also be found nearby. Note that Briallen can not be paid to watch over the herb patch, he only watches the bush patch. Cadarn (Magic & Ranged) The Cadarn Clan is located south-east of the Tower of Voices, off the eastern path. It is primarily based on the Magic and Ranged skills, and is led by Arianwyn. It features: Cadarn rangers and magi can be found scattered across the district, and can be fought for combat experience. They are primarily found training near some archery targets in the south of the district. They are capable of using abilities. Defeat 1,000 of them and the player will unlock the of the Cadarn title. Cadarn workers which can be pickpocketed at 93 Thieving can be found scattered around. Loot includes sharks, coins and more. The Cadarn herald and Arianwyn can be found within the Cadarn tower. The herald sells the Clan Cadarn cape. A battlestaff shop, owned by Haf, can be found just north of the archery targets. A fountain containing The Tears of Seren for recharging dragonstone jewellery can be found outside Haf's shop, which acts similarly to the Fountain of Heroes in the Heroes' Guild and the Totem Pole in the Legends' Guild. A flax field, a loom and a spinning wheel can be found in the north-east, just north of the Max Guild. The Max Guild is found in the southeast, and has a number of features. Trahaearn (Mining & Smithing) The Trahaearn Clan is located south-east of the Tower of Voices, off the southern path near the southern entrance to Prifddinas. It features: Trahaearn workers which can be pickpocketed at level 95 Thieving can be found all around the district. The Trahaearn tower contains the Trahaearn herald and a bank chest. The herald sells the Clan Trahaearn cape. Lady Trahaearn can be found watching over the Seren Stones in the south, which act similar to ivy. They require level 89 Mining to mine, and produce corrupted ore. You can obtain the of the Trahaearn title by mining 100 Corrupted ores. A tree patch can be found to the east of the Seren Stones, watched over by Eifion and Tiwlip. An anvil and furnace can be found in the building just south-east of the Seren Stones. A large mine can be found north of the Trahaearn tower, which contains 6 mithril ore rocks, 8 adamantite ore rocks, 8 coal rocks and 2 runite ore rocks, which can also yield corrupted ore when the Voice of Seren is active. 8 Prifddinas gem rocks can be found to the east of the mine, which produce better gems than the ones in the Shilo Village and Lunar Isle Mine. When the district is illuminated by the Voice of Seren, any rock at the mining site can be replaced by either a dark or light animica rock. Iorworth (Melee & Slayer) The Iorwerth Clan is located south-west of the Tower of Voices, off the southern path near the southern entrance to Prifddinas. It is primarily based on the Melee and Slayer skills, and is led by their new lord, Iestin Edern. It features: Iorwerth workers to pickpocket at 91 Thieving can be found scattered around the district. Iorwerth scouts and Iorwerth guards to fight against can be found scattered around the district. The Iorwerth herald can be found within the clan tower, and sells the Clan Iorwerth cape. Morvran, a slayer master requiring at least 85 Slayer and a combat level of 120 can be found in the north-eastern part of the district. Morvran assigns the same tasks Kuradal assigns, with some unpopular tasks removed (such as living rock creatures) and the addition of elves. He can also extend the number of creatures assigned and can assign his Hall of Fame challenge. Completing 8 dark beast tasks assigned by Morvran will unlock the "of the Iorwerth" title. Rush of Blood, a weekly D&D run by Morvran where the player must survive endless waves of monsters for ten minutes, can be accessed by going down the cage next to Morvran. It includes four difficulty levels with different requirements for each difficulty. This D&D unlocks a number of titles. (This activity may not be available at the moment!) A small obelisk to recharge Summoning points can be found next to Morvran. The Iorwerth Manor is found in the south-western part of the district, which contains Iestin Edern and a number of features: A crystal chest with an improved drop table in comparison to the chest in Taverley. An altar that recharges prayer points and gives a persistent boost to Attack, Strength, and Defence while in Prifddinas. Once the player leaves Prifddinas, the following notice is received: "Your boost from the Clan Iorwerth altar has been reset." Ithell (Crafting & Construction) The Ithell Clan is located south-west of the Tower of Voices, off the western path. It is primarily based on the Crafting and Construction skills, and is led by Lady Ithell. It features: The Ithell herald can be found in the clan tower near a bank chest. The herald sells the Clan Ithell cape. Ithell workers scattered throughout the district, which require 92 Thieving to pickpocket and give a variety of Crafting and Construction items as loot. The Harmonium which features a copy of the Ithell statue and four Harps, which you can tune and play for Construction and Crafting experience and harmonic dust. Lady Ithell can upgrade the dragon pickaxe and dragon hatchet to the crystal pickaxe and crystal hatchet respectively for 4,000 harmonic dust each. Harmonic dust is also used for Crystal Singing: making (attuned) crystal equipment and other tools with the singing bowl. Crystal equipment is level 70, and is made with weapon and armour seeds and harmonic dust. Attuned crystal equipment is level 80 , and is made with attuned weapon and armour seeds and harmonic dust. Both types of equipment degrade to seed after a certain number of uses. Eluned (on the east side) can help with crystal singing. A soft clay mining site, right next to a pottery wheel and a pottery oven. A place to mine Ithell crystal sandstone, which is used for crystal flasks. There is also a robust glassmaking machine, which makes crystal flasks in addition to regular potion flasks like the one in Oo'glog. A sawmill operator, tanner, sandpit, estate agent, and player-owned house portal. A cooking range. Amlodd (Summoning & Divination) The Amlodd Clan is located north-west of the Tower of Voices, off the western path. It is primarily based on the Summoning and Divination skills, and is led by Lord Amlodd. It features: The Amlodd herald can be found at the clan tower and sells the Clan Amlodd cape. Amlodd workers to pickpocket at 94 Thieving scattered throughout the district. A fairy ring in the south-western corner, code DJS. A Summoning obelisk, very close to a bank (at the Ithell Clan), on the west side near Lord Amlodd. Lord Amlodd will swap summoning pouches for spirit shards at the same rate as Bogrog, and also sells items at his summoning shop. In return for catching one of each impling, Daffyd will give you the thinker robes, thinker trousers, 50,000 Hunter experience and an enhancement to catching implings. You can toggle this enhancement between tripling the experience Hunting implings, and doubling the loot received from them. This does not at apply to implings in Puro-Puro. Truthful shadows, Blissful shadows and Manifest shadows can be found on the east side of the district. Killing them gives shadow cores, which can be converted into light cores at the rift for Divination experience. Hefin (Agility & Prayer) The Hefin Clan is located north-west of the Tower of Voices, off the northern path. It is primarily based on the Agility and Prayer skills, and is led by Lady Hefin. It features: The Hefin herald can be found inside the clan tower and sells the Clan Hefin cape. Hefin workers that can be pickpocketed at level 96 Thieving, scattered throughout the district. The Hefin Agility Course gives among the best Agility experience in the game, along with a variety of rewards including emotes, the cosmetic Prifddinian worker outfit, and new lore. Using a light creature's special move increases the frequency of rewards. Hefin monks sell cleansing crystals, which are used to cleanse the Corrupted Seren Stone in the cathedral, giving a decent rate of Prayer experience in a mechanic similar to bonfires for Firemaking. Meilyr (Dungeoneering & Herblore) The Meilyr Clan is located north-east of the Tower of Voices, off the northern path. It is primarily based on the Dungeoneering and Herblore skills, and is led by Lady Meilyr. It features: The Meilyr herald can be found in the clan tower and sells the Clan Meilyr cape. Meilyr workers throughout the district, which can be pickpocketed at 98 Thieving. Harmony pillars are farming patches that attune to a random skill when a seed is planted in them. Gaining experience in that skill helps the pillar grow harmony moss. Harmony moss is used to make perfect juju potions when combined with juju potions made in the Herblore Habitat minigame. (Currently not in-game!) Also available are combination potions, which combine two high-level potions to give the effects of both in a six-dose crystal flask. Recipes for combination potions are bought from Lady Meilyr and some of them need to be found while Dungeoneering. A resource dungeon (95 Dungeoneering) on the north side containing a bloodwood tree, pawyas and grenwalls, implings, and random divine locations (which do count towards your daily limit). It also contains a Gorajo hoardstalker that will give a random card that gives benefits while Dungeoneering. Another resource dungeon (115 Dungeoneering) on the south side, containing Meilyr crystal sandstone, Edimmu and the Motherlode Maw, which will give you a daily random reward including 10% damage boosters, reward boosters, implings, and dragon armour. Wythien can also give you one of the Motherlode Maw's rewards for 10 crystal motherlode shards. Captain Muggin has a gnome glider that goes to the Grand Tree, found in the far northwest corner. The Gnomic name for Prifddinas is Dylandra. A fruit tree patch in the north-west part of the district attended by Alfon (gardener) and Emlyn (elven tool leprechaun). Harmony pillar farmers that run the Meilyr Clan Store together with Lady Meilyr. EDIT: I will add images to this post in the future and when I do it will make this post much much longer. Just a warning. 16. The Nexus is located near the Zanaris Shed. In order to get to the Nexus you can use the Teleport. This teleport can be found within the Mining Tab of the Teleport tab located on the top right of the screen. Once you've used the teleport, it will take you to the following mine. From this mine, you want to run East until you reach a pillar with four colored bowls on it. Just North East of that pillar is an NPC named "Ysondria'. Talk to her, and she will give you a "Charmed Sack". So now that you have your charmed sack you can actually use it to collect corruption from the Nexus. Your Charmed Sack is capable of storing up to 15 corruption. So once you've completely filled your Charmed sack, you can take that to one of the pillars i mentioned before. That's it! Rinse and repeat! I've not included any XP rates because this is a very low level method of leveling your prayer. I recommend using this for prayer up to level 43. Until next time! EDIT: I will be adding both a Mid-level and a High-level Prayer guide in the near future as well! Also, all my guides in the future WILL be 100% Ironman Friendly.
