Velheim Ironman Guide

(I'm not a fan of pictures, so enjoy some plain text.)

Necessities

Voting. Ironmen can use the ;;vote book shop at home by talking to the Wise Old Man. There are many useful things to purchase. If you want to use your vote books on spins, I suggest saving them and using them when there is a SoF event.

Linking. You can link your account to both the ;;forums and ;;discord in order to gain more loyalty points. Loyalty points can be spent in the loyalty shop by speaking to the Wise Old Man, but more importantly on auras that you will use for pvm. Good auras to buy for pvm are; vampyrism, reckless, berserker, maniacal, and dark magic.

Daily Shop Runs.

1. Rune shops. These are located at the following places

-Mage Bank (pvp teleport, this location is safe)

-Al Kharid (lodestone teleport, run north and talk to Ali)

-Magic Guild (Yanille lodestone teleport, run east)

-Lunar Isle (Lunar Isle lodestone teleport, run north and go inside of the chicken house)

-Zammy Mage north of Edgeville bank in the wild

-Pest Control (PC minigame teleport, run west, this shop has no blood runes)

2. Farming Shop located at the Prifddinas herb farming teleport. This shop has low tier tree and fruit tree saplings for sale.

3. Sophanem Slayer Dungeon feather shop. You can only buy 1000 of these feathers a day, you're going to need a lot in the long run doing slayer, and if you're going for the T92 khopesh set.

4. Invention Disassemble Shops. Do not wear gear when doing these if you spam the spell. The more invention disassembling you do at a lower level the better. At a higher level you gain a reduced chance to get junk, you’re going to need a lot of junk to make refined components for alchemical hydrix and onyx. You can alternatively make an auto disassembler at 60 invention, and slap some normal feathers, or spirit shards in it for junk.

-White Knights, located in the eastern tower, 2 floors up

-Lowe's bow shop in Varrock

-Zaff's shop in Varrock

-Rogues Den

-Varrock Sword Shop

-Zeke’s Scim Shop in Al Kharid

-Legs shop in Al Kharid

-Falador Shield shop

-Horvik's armor shop in Varrock

Warbands are an absolute bonkers amount of xp. There is no limit on how many you can do per day (they happen at the same times as the RS3 ones do), but you can only loot 25 resources per warband. If you log out, you will lose them all, if you get pk’d you will lose them all. The 25 limit per warband is also per IP, not per account.

Reaper Tasks can be started from lvl 50 combat. These are boss tasks that you can do daily, amount increases with donor rank. You will get reaper points to spend in Death's shop. You will need multiple hydrix for BIS pvm gear, and some skilling gear.

Miscellaneous

Donor ranks and perks

Check out ;;topic 584 for the donor benefits breakdown. The ;;dz is very nice, ;;ddz is even better.

My personal perk suggestions. Almost all of the perks are great and you won’t regret buying any of them. The ones below are mostly focused towards helping in PvM.

-Greater Gods

-Herbivore

-Investigator

-Overclocking

-Prayer Party

-Preslaysion

-Stamina Stallion

-Paramedic

Squeal of Fortune

1. You will get 2 daily SoF spins (more with a higher donor rank). You can earn 2 spins from doing the evil tree, and handing in your daily tasks.

2. When you do SoF spins, you can either loot it, or convert it to oddments which can be spent in the oddments shop. DO NOT just spam the space-bar and loot everything. Convert everything except skilling outfit pieces, huge/large lamps/stars, lucky items, coins, and any cosmetics you want into oddments. Doing this will net you a huge amount of oddments in the long run, which you can spend on pulse cores, the best xp/oddment cost, since they give you a 10 mins +10% xp buff. You can also use the oddments to buy prismatic stars and lamps to use on skills you don't enjoy training.

3. Click the space-bar once or twice when you open it, this will pop up with the item you got. After that you can spam click the stop button and it will instantly give you the loot screen, without the possibility of accidentally looting it.

The Enhanced Excalibur can be retrieved from the Lady of the Lake in Taverley, south of the East Taverley teleport. You can augment this weapon and slap some of the xp perks on it, and use it while skilling for some free xp. You can also use this weapon and take it slaying and bossing for its healing ability. There are no requirements to get the sword.

Runecrafting

Spoiler

1. You have a few options for RC. You can do solely Runespan 1-99, if you’re a psychopath you can do normal RC 1-99, or a combo.

2. Runespan is a great way to train your runecrafting, you don’t need any of that pesky rune essence, and it’s mostly AFK. The only downside is that you don’t get any runes from it.

3. You can do just purely abyss runecrafting with pure essence you get from PvM and clue scrolls.

4. The wombo combo would be to do Runespan until 65/77/90 and then make death/blood/soul runes at their respective altars. You can use a portable deposit box to unnote your essence right at the altar. Ironman can use other people's deposit boxes to unnote items.

-You need 107 slayer in order to kill feline akh’s, the only npc that drops a soul talisman

-Blood talismans can be obtained easily from werewolves in Canafis, just walk around slaughtering the locals.

-You need 90 slayer in order to kill dark beasts, which drop the death talisman.

-If you’re going to do a bit of normal/abyss runecrafting, you can get the essence pouches from the monsters inside of the abyss. Pouches do not degrade on Velheim.

Construction

Spoiler

-You can get to your home with the teleport to home spell.

-You can either chop your own logs at the Tai Bwo Wannai WC teleport and make your own planks, or try to get them as drops. You can also use a portable workbench to make flatpacks. This gives the same XP as if you were making them in your POH, but saves you the hassle of using your butler, or banking and going back.

-You can get a decent amount of planks from doing clue scrolls.

-Jadinko’s drop 15 noted mahogany logs commonly.

-For levels 1-33 make chairs in a parlour room, you can buy steel nails from the npc at the sawmill.

-For levels 33-38/52 make oak larders in a kitchen

-From 38-52/99 make teak dining tables

-Once you reach level 50 head to Ardougne and head slightly north and talk to the demon butler to hire him. He will be your servant and you can use noted items on them.

-For levels 52-99 make mahogany dining tables in the dining room

Agility

Spoiler

1. Start at either the Gnome agility course, or Burthorpe agility course and do them until lvl 35

2. Go to the Barbarian agility course until 52 for the wilderness course, or until 77 for HCIM to do Prifddinas course

3. Using a demonic skull, purchased from the Zammy Mage north of Edgeville, and do the wild course. Beware of pkers, as the skull makes it so anyone can attack you. Stay here as long as you want. At lvl 85 you can move to the Advanced Gnome course, this is less xp, but you need 250 laps for Comp (t)

4. Once level 90 you can go back to barbarian agility and do the advanced course, you also need 250 laps of this for Comp (t)

5. You can also choose to do the Anachronia agility course starting at level 35, with the highest obstacles being lvl 85. This is the best xp in the game if you can get used to the path.

6. I suggest you do agility prior to thieving, since you can unlock the potential for multiple pickpockets in one action.

7. You can get a free pair of silverhawk boots from the Wise Old Man, they will have 0 charges. You can use these boots to passively level up your agility. You can buy feathers (charges) from the thaler minigame shop, and the SoF oddments shop.

8. You can also use training dummy crates on agility.

Herblore

Spoiler

1. Do your farm runs, herbs take about 40 minutes to grow. Herblore pairs very well with thieving and farming to thieve the seeds and then plant them for herbs.

2. Below will be a list of where to get the secondary ingredients for some of the common potions. Vial of water packs can be bought from the NPC at East Taverley teleport

1. Eye of newt, and vial of water packs are sold from the NPC at East Taverley teleport

2. Limpwurt roots

-Farmed in flower patches with 26 farming, you can get a lot of seeds from master farmers

-Bandos GWD

-You can AFK in the Varrock sewers resource dungeon with a legendary pet. The pet will auto loot the limpwurt roots. Either use magic notepaper, or bank and teleport back via a dungeoneering skill cape

3. White berries

-Farmed in bush patches with 59 farming. 4 berries will be gathered every time, easy to add this onto your herb runs

-Moss Golems

-Liverworts

-Corporeal Beast

4. Wine of Zamorak

-Kalphite queen, Exiled Kalphite queen

-Zamorak GWD

5. Potato cactus

-Kalphite queen

-Scarab akh

-Corrupted scarab

6. Crushed nest

-Trading in giant mole pieces for nests

-Magister

-Telos

-Armadyl GWD

7. Red spider eggs are best gathered from using a spirit spider summoning familiar, and using its special move. 50 scrolls will net you around 120 red spider eggs. Fairy ring teleport to CLS and kill the jungle spiders there for the spider carcasses.

8. Mud runes can be obtained from NPCs in living rock caverns. The living rock patriarch spawns randomly directly south of the teleport and always drops 125. Can also be obtained from Vine Crawlers, 104 slayer.

9. Grenwall spikes can only be obtained from catching grenwalls with level 77 hunter. Can also be obtained from the divine box trap, with level 77 hunter.

10. Morchella mushrooms can only be obtained by farming them at the patch two mushroom patches, with 74 farming.

11. Papaya are used for adrenaline potions if you’re going to do endgame PvM. The best way to get them is on fruit trees.

DO NOT make all of your herbs into unfinished potions at once, as some of them are needed as secondary ingredients to make extreme potions.

Zahur in the home bank will decant potions for you, clean noted herbs, make unfinished potions, and decant potions in vials for you.

-If you have the herblore perk, I’d suggest making your own unfinished potions, as this will increase the amount you can make, since the herb counts as the secondary ingredient and will be saved often.

Thieving

Spoiler

1. You can stay at home stalls for 1-99 if you’d like, but thieving an npc is better xp, and will net you some decent loot.

2. Start out at the home stalls until lvl 38/48 for master farmers. lvl 48 will unlock you the potential for double pickpocket from them, and needs 38 agility. Stay here as long as you want, the seeds are nice.

-Seedicide from the Thaler minigame shop will work here, but will give no farming xp for the seeds destroyed. It is still nice to set it to destroy all of the trash seeds so you don’t need to empty your inventory.

Level 40 - Guards in any of the major cities until lvl 55

Level 55 - Knights of Ardougne until lvl 70

Level 70 - Paladins in Ardougne until lvl 75

Level 75 - Gnomes in the Gnome Stronghold until lvl 80

Level 80 - Heroes in Ardougne until lvl 90

Level 90 - Dwarf Traders at the Keldagrim thieving teleport until 99, these are the best thieving xp.

You can move to Prifddinas elves at level 91, the xp is slower, but you can afk on them, without needing the thieving outfit.

Each of the clans gives different loot, including brawlers. Clan and the brawler type they give are listed below. (the loot tables are pretty close to RS3, they will be linked.)

Level 91 Iowerth: melee

Level 92 Ithell: thieving

Level 93 Cadarn: magic and ranged

Level 94 Amlodd: hunter

Level 95 Trahaearn: mining and smithing

Level 96 Hefin: prayer and agility

Level 97 Crwys: wc and fm

Level 98 Meilyr: fishing

*The Sticky Fingers relic from archaeology makes it so you continue to pickpocket until you fail. This requires 84 archaeology.

Crafting

Spoiler

1. Al Kharid mine for gem rocks, there is a deposit box there. Beware of scorpions. If you’re new and want to unlock invention, these are decent to camp straight to 80.

2. Naffs shop in varrock sells 80 battlestaves which can be used to make elemental battlestaves if you have received the charged orbs from slayer.

3. Once you reach 89 crafting you can start to make potion flasks from red sandstone with 81 mining. There is no cap for gathering this on Velheim.

4. At 89 crafting you can also make crystal flasks, mined from crystal-flecked sandstone with 81 mining in Prifddinas. There is a daily limit on these that increases with donor rank.

5. Making necklaces with your gems is a good way to set yourself up later on with porters.

6. Bork the big ork, the dropper of gems. You can kill Bork several times daily, which increases with donor rank. He has a fixed amount of uncut gems he drops every kill, and they add up very fast when you do them daily.

7. Moss Golems (108 slayer) drop noted uncut dragon stones commonly, you can expect 250+ per task.

Fishing and Cooking

Spoiler

1. You can buy bait and feathers from the Port Sarim lodestone teleport.

2. Lvl 1 to 20 fish shrimp at Draynor

3. Lvl 20 to 40 fish trout and salmon at Barbarian Village

4. Lvl 40 to 62/68 fish lobsters. You can stay at lobsters and skip monkfish if you’d like, both suck as a food source, and lobsters are faster xp/hr.

5. Lvl 62 to 68 fish monkfish at Piscatoris fishing colony

6. Lvl 68 to 76/97/99 fish green blubber jellyfish at the Deep sea fishing hub, located in the Fishing guild. Green blubbers are the best xp/hr for fishing. They are pretty trash as a pvm food, since they get eaten in 3 bites like a cake, but are alright to use for slayer.

7. Lvl 76 to 97/99 fish sharks at the fishing guild

8. Lvl 97 you can fish sailfish, the best healing food in the game, southwest at ;;home, or at the Deep sea fishing hub, if you would like a chance for Tavia's rod.

9. Just cook your items, you can buy cooking gauntlets from the vote shop, and a 99 cooking skillcape will stop food from burning while worn. You can use cooking brawlers in the wilderness and do your cooking there to increase the xp.

Mining and Smithing

Spoiler

1. Velheim has the RS3 mining and smithing rework, not going to write a book about it, instead read the wiki here, or you can read the extensive guide Arcadiez has here.

2. A very popular thing to do is to grind Masterwork armor right away so you have some good armor to pvm/slay in. I suggest not doing that. Just do the grind until lvl 80 smithing to unlock invention, and then come back to it later. You can get a lot of stone spirits easily from pvm/crystal keys, which will cut your masterwork grind down by ~40%.

3. You can buy pickaxes up to rune from Nurmof in the Dwarven mine. Fastest teleport is the living rock caverns and then going up the rope.

4. Other than smithing yourself gear, you should be making darts to also level fletching, and to disassemble those darts for simple parts. Platebodies are faster xp/hr but have no value.

5. All of the teleports under the mining icon have the ores there listed in the description.

6. Shooting stars for the Earth and Song pickaxe. You should start doing these ASAP, you need a lot of stardust in order to unlock this. The stars are decent xp, and are AFK.

Summoning

Spoiler

1. Bork the big ork, the dropper of charms. You can kill Bork several times daily, which increases with donor rank. He has a fixed amount of charms he drops every kill, and they add up very fast when you do them daily.

2. You can get the charming imp from the dungeoneering reward shop, it will auto bank any charm drops you get.

3. You can “use” an item on the obelisk to instantly craft a pouch, you do not need to go through the interface. You can do this to make scrolls as well.

4. List of some easy to make pouches. Level, charm type, ingredient, location if needed

16, gold, iron ore

33, green, willow logs

41, green, guam

46, blue, iron bar

47, green, gold ring

56, blue, steel bar

56, green, harpoon, Catherby fishing shop

66, blue, mithril bar

74, crimson, granite, mined at western desert site. You can break the granite into 500g pieces.

76, blue, adamant bar

86, blue, rune bar

88, green, unicorn horn, Saradomin GWD

89, blue, water talisman, best place to get them is vinecrawlers (104 slayer)

96, crimson, yak hide, Jatizso cave mining teleport and then up the stairs, bought from a shop

99, crimson, steel platebody, Horvik's shop in Varrock has a stock of 10

Melee Weapons

Spoiler

Low tier 1-60

-teleport to Catherby, run to the charter ship and sail to Port Tyras, run east and talk to the Quartermaster there, he sells halberds from bronze to dragon. This will save you the hassle of wasting bars on making weapons. Halberds hit 3 enemies within one square of you, and can hit your main target an extra square away.

Lvl 70

-Blisterwood polearm is a halberd that can be obtained from the blisterwood tree in Darkmeyer. You need to purchase the Drakan's medallion for 25 vote points to teleport there.

-Crystal halberd is a halberd that can be made with a crystal weapon seed and 750 harmonic dust. You can get this seed rarely from the Iorwerth Guards/Scouts in Prifddinas.

-necronium battle axes and greataxe can be made with lvl 70 smithing.

-abyssal whip can be obtained as a drop from abyssal demons with lvl 85 slayer.

-Barrows weapons can be obtained from the Barrows minigame.

Lvl 75

-Godswords can be obtained from Godwars dungeon. You will need a hilt, and the 3 godsword shards to make a godsword.

-zamorakian spear can be obtained from Zamorak godwars dungeon.

-saradomin sword can be obtained from the Saradomin godwars dungeon.

Lvl 80

-attuned crystal halberd can be made by combining 2000 harmonic dust with an attuned crystal weapon seed. You can get this seed rarely from the Iowerth Guards/Scouts in Prifddinas.

-chaotic weapons can be obtained through the dungeoneering skill token shop.

Lvl 82

-the khopesh of the kharidian and off-hand khopesh of kharidian can be obtained from killing monsters inside of the Sophanem slayer dungeon.

-the masuta’s warspear can be obtained from masuta in ed1. This spear will also hit in aoe like a halberd.

Lvl 85

-the tetsu swords can be obtained from the player owned ports mini-game. This mini-game requires at least 5 of the following skills to be lvl 90 or above; agility, construction, cooking, divination, dungeoneering, fishing, herblored, hunter, prayer, runecrafting, slayer or thieving. This mini-game will also unlocked lvl 85 weapons for range and magic, as well as T83 and T85 gear for all 3 combat styles.

-the dragon rider lance is a halberd that can be obtained as a drop from Vindicta in gwd2. Lvl 80 attack is required to enter the boss room. This boss can be killed easily with whatever gear you have by the time you're lvl 80 attack.

-ripper claws can be obtained rarely from ripper demons, 96 slayer required.

-the blade of avaryss and blade of nymora can be obtained from the Twin Furies in gwd2. Lvl 80 range is required to enter the boss room.

-mizuyari is a spear that can be made from a seiryu’s claw (ed1 drop) and a seiryu’s fang (bought from Waiko for 5k chimes).

Lvl 90

-drygore weapons can be obtained from the kalphite king. The king can be killed in T70 gear with relative ease. You make your own instance, and keep on entering until you see that he has blue wings, this means he will use mage only for a couple of minutes.

-the noxious scythe can be made by combining araxxors fang with a spider leg. A recent update made it so you can only get the leg piece on its corresponding path, ie, top path will only give top leg parts.

-the spear of annihilation can be made by doing a ton of afk archaeology.

-elder rune weapons can be made with 90 smithing. These weapons are only T85 but require 90 attack to wield. I do not suggest wasting elder rune bars on these weapons, as alternatives are easy to acquire.

Lvl 92

-the masterwork spear of annihilation, I don’t know how you get this thing, i just know it’s a grind.

-The zaros godsword can be obtained from Telos, it requires an orb set (drops from telos) as well to be made usable.

-the khopesh of tumenken and elidinis can be obtained by killing the Magister for phylactery drops, which give scraps. You need 300 scraps for each khopesh. In order to fight the Magister you need a “key to the crossing” which can be obtained rarely as a drop from npc’s inside of the Sophanem slayer dungeon.
