Dodo
Welcome fellow lazy players... If you're someone like me who like to play Velheim while you watch Netflix/Youtube, sit in boring Zoom calls, do homework, or fill up on snacks, then I welcome you to this guide about the best methods to gain the most experience with the absolute least amount of effort and attention required. I typically consider a training method AFK-able if it allows you to look away from the game for 30 seconds or more. If you have any methods to contribute, I encourage you to reply to this thread or message me in game. Hope everyone has a chill time in game. IGN: Dodo Gathering Skills Gathering skills are naturally very relaxing to train, providing some of the longest afk timers. Remember to wear Grace of the Elves for a chance at Hazelmere's Signet Ring! Mining [Most AFK] Seren Stones - your stamina does not deplete on these rocks and they provide best base XP (~5 mins AFK) [Most XP] Pirate's Hideout Mine - big XP multipliers by wearing Mining Brawling Gloves (~1-5 min AFK based on stamina upkeep) [Most GP] Dark/Light Animica - using a porter or a Grace of the Elves can drastically increase QoL and AFK time (~1-5 min AFK based on stamina upkeep) Fishing [Most AFK] Magnetic Minnows - stackable fish that allow you stay at the same fishing spot for a long time (~5 mins AFK) [Best XP] Green Blubber Jellyfish - use the spot that's 3 tiles away from bank or the Fury Shark Outfit if you don't want to move (~2-5 mins AFK based on banking) [Best GP] Sailfish - sailfish is always in demand because it's the best xp for cooking and pvmers often use it (~5 mins AFK - you will fill your inventory before you get tired) Woodcutting [Most AFK/Most XP] Ivy - best experience and no preparation required (~10 sec-2 min AFK) [Most GP] Elder Tree - increase your afk time by using a porter, a Grace of the Elves, or the Evil Tree Buff, and the Resourceful Aura (~20 sec-10+ min AFK depending on setup) Archaeology [Most AFK/Most GP/Most XP] - use Grace of the Elves with Autoscreener at the highest available level location (20-30+ min AFK) Recommended Locations: War Table Debris - highest chance at obtaining Inquisitor Staff parts, which is 1b+ at the time of writing Bandos Sanctum Debris - chance to obtain Spear of Annihilation tip Divination [Most XP] - convert both energy and memories to XP at the best wisp colony for your level (30 sec AFK) [Most AFK/Most GP] filling empty charges using a Divine-o-matic (30 sec AFK) The Divination Cape perk causes wisps to always last 30 seconds Guthixian Cache is great for XP, but not AFK at all Farming [Most AFK/Most XP/Most GP] Turoths or Aquanites - use aggression potion with Seedicide (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Spring Cleaner, Herbicide, and Legendary Pets are great here for Herblore XP and GP Hunter [Most AFK/Most XP] Grenwalls - autodeploy protean traps (2+ min AFK) [Most XP] Charming Moths - amazing xp with Hunter Brawling Gloves and Demonic Skull (~30 sec-2 min AFK) Artisan Skills These skills usually offer the highest xp rates in the game, but here are some methods that aren't so click intensive with long afk timers. Remember to wear Brooch of the Gods to take full advantage of urns and portables while raking in the rare invention components! Crafting [Most AFK] Harps - these things are a godsend for Ironmen and regular players alike (5 min AFK) [Most XP] Protean Hides - use a Portable Crafter (2 min AFK) [Most GP] Potion Flasks - usually in demand on the GE (~1 min AFK) [Good BXP] Spring Cleaner - AFK Corrupted Warriors or Cadarn Magus for Crafting BXP Construction [Most AFK] Harps - these things are a godsend for Ironmen and regular players alike (5 min AFK) [Most XP] Mahogany Table Flatpacks - very little AFK time, but still much better than doing normal construction (~12-15 sec AFK based on perks) Unfortunately, construction is by nature a very click intensive skill Cooking [Most AFK/Most GP] Sailfish - popular food for pvmers (~30 sec-1 min AFK based on perks) [Most XP] Sailfish on a Portable Range outside of Mage Bank with Cooking Brawling Gloves (~30 sec-1 min AFK based on perks) Alternatively, cook whatever you have around (you know those 100k+ raw sharks in your bank from bossing?) Firemaking [Most AFK] Burn the best log you can afford on a Portable Brazier (~2-3 min AFK) [Most XP] Elder Logs on a Portable Brazier outside Mage Bank with FM Brawling Gloves (~2-3 min AFK) If you turn your sound effects on, you can hear when fire spirits appear and collect the FM Set and Infernal Adze Pyromaniac and Rapid decrease AFK time, but increase XP rates When a perk or a brazier saves a log, it extends the time you can AFK. Brooch of the Gods is a huge QoL improvement here. Fletching [Most AFK] Fletching bows (unstrung) take the longest (even longer if using protean logs) (~30-60 sec AFK based on perks) [Good XP] Darts of any kind - not very AFK, but extremely fast XP (~20-40 sec AFK based on perks) [Most XP] Stalker Arrows on a Portable Fletcher (~20-40 sec AFK based on perks) One of the fastest skills to train by far, with methods reaching over 1M base xp/hr Herblore [Most AFK] Potions with stackable secondary ingredients like Extreme Magic or Extreme Ranging (~20-40 sec AFK based on perks) Not many AFK options here since herblore xp ticks are some of the fastest in the game Runecrafting [Most AFK/Most XP] Unstable Essence at Blood Altar (~30 sec AFK) [Good AFK/Good XP] Runespan (~30-90 sec AFK) As you can see, Runespan is pretty synonymous with AFK runecrafting so get ready to spend some time there Smithing [Good AFK/Good GP] Darts - they're great for fletching so why not take some time to make them (~1 min AFK) [Most GP] Smith Bars - Rune for darts or Elder Rune for GP (up to 1 min AFK with smelting gauntlets) [Good XP] Corrupted Ore - If you used the Seren Stone mining method, you probably a have a ton (~1 min AFK) [Most AFK/Most XP] Protean Bar with Smithing Brawling Gloves at the anvil west of Mage Bank (~2 min AFK) Rapid decreases AFK time, but increases XP rates
Dodo
Support Skills Support skills consist of a lot of variety so there's no consistent theme, but still many ways to AFK. Agility [Good XP] Charming Moths with Hunter Brawling Gloves and Demonic Skull (~30 sec-2 min AFK) [Most AFK/Most XP] Silverhawk Boots charged with Silverhawk Feathers Wear Silverhawk Boots whenever possible and you'll never have to think about agility training Dungeoneering [Most AFK/Most XP] Buying floors - ask nicely in FC or ask a friend to run floors for you (1+ hrs AFK or whenever you've reached your required level) Prices can get pretty high due to how expensive the dungeoneering perk is Slayer [Most AFK/Most XP] Any slayer monster - use aggression potion (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Thieving [Most AFK/Most XP] Dwarven Traders with Sticky Fingers [Good XP/Most GP] Elven Clan Workers - no Sticky Fingers required here Combat Skills If you do a lot of PVM, most of your combat skills will level up naturally, but if you want to chill and AFK your combat training, here are some popular methods. Constitution/Defense These can be trained through attack, strength, magic, and ranged so choose your favorite method below Attack/Strength [Most AFK/Most GP/Most XP] Abyss with aggression potion and any Halberd (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Magic [Most AFK/Most GP/Most XP] Abyss with aggression potion and any barrage spell (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Ranged [Most AFK/Most GP/Most XP] Abyss with aggression potion and any chinchompa (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Prayer [Most AFK/Good XP] Cleansing Crystal (~2 min AFK) [Most XP] Wilderness Chaos Altar with Prayer Brawling Gloves (~30 sec AFK) [Most GP/Good XP] Frost Dragons with aggression potion and Bonecrusher with legendary pet looting (6-12 min AFK depending on Herbivore perk) Summoning [Most AFK/Most GP/Most XP] Abyss with aggression potion and charming imp Miscellaneous Invention [Most XP/Most AFK] Disassemble fishing rod-o-matic at level 10 after you AFK fish with it [Good XP/Good AFK] Disassemble staves/halberds after you level them to level 10 or siphon at level 12 [Most GP] Disassemble the things you need for Divine Charges, Alchemical Onyx, Alchemical Hydrix, and Perks Minigames AFKing at Castle Wars is the easiest way to farm Thaler You can fletch and disassemble while AFKing in Castle Wars Thaler can be used for Pickaxe of Song & Earth and Mattock of Space & Time Silverhawks are another great buy for Thaler so you can AFK agility even more General Tips Seren Spirits, Divine Blessings, and Fire Spirits have the same loud sound effect. Turn your sound on if you don't want to miss a potential drop. Use urns! They make skills like runecrafting, cooking, and woodcutting easier to train by increasing xp rates and saving resources. Right click the next action you are about to make before you AFK so you easily see it when you return. This is especially helpful when hunting charming moths. For those of you that have access to the Diamond Donation Zone, the permanent divine locations are an amazing source of AFK xp.
