Locked Magister - Boss Guide

The Magister, is a necromancer from the human home world of Teragard and a solo Slayer boss. He may be found in the First Gate of the Grim Underworld, accessible from the Sophanem Slayer Dungeon. Unlike the other inhabitants of the dungeon, a feather of Ma'at is not required to kill him.

To fight the Magister, level 115 Slayer and a key to the Crossing is required.

Location

You can teleport to The Magister with the Teleportation Menu. Go to Bosses - The Magister

Head through the doorway and run north bound until you reach the Soul Obilisk. Remember to start the fight you need to use a Key to the Crossing

Magister Mechanics

Auto-attack: The Magister primarily attacks with magic using a twirling animation. After three auto-attacks, he randomly uses one of the following abilities:

Ranged attack: The Magister charges up a ball of red lightning before launching it at the player, dealing high ranged damage. He will slam his staff on the ground and cracks will appear, followed by the attack.

Dodge this!": The Magister throws an explosive vial next to the player with an adrenaline bar above it, which explodes after a few seconds,It can be kicked back in the Magister's direction. You can also avoid the explosive damage by being outside of its blast radius.
"Those who fall shall rise again!": The Magister will summon two imperial akhs to attack the player, which consists of any combination of imperial mage akhs, imperial ranger akhs, and imperial warrior akhs. Beware the minions can do a lot of damage if you're weak against those who spawn.
"Your sacrifice allows me to live!": The Magister uses an Asphyxiate-like animation, which heals him for the damage (unmodified) dealt to the player. It can be avoided by staying far enough from him and stopped by running out of his range. If you have good enough gear then it is just recommended to keep on DPSing.
Ranged attack: The Magister charges up a ball of red lightning before launching it at the player, dealing high ranged damage.

A phylactery is an item dropped by The Magister, which can be cracked open to receive 5, 10, 15 or 25 scraps of scripture.

With 100 scraps and 92 Crafting, it creates the blessings in the following order:

Blessing of the Sand

Blessing of the Sea

Blessing of the Sky

The 3 blessings can then be combined with a khopesh of the Kharidian or an Off-hand khopesh of the Kharidian to create a khopesh of Tumeken or a khopesh of Elidinis respectively.

Each sword required those 3 blessings; 300 scripts per sword. 600 in total for the full set

Starved ancient effigy, An effigy that gives Experience in several different skills of your choice. Also has a chance of giving the effigy pet.
