Arcadiez
The Fight Kiln is a combat minigame wherein waves of TokHaar are fought for the sole sake of combat and the TokHaar's amusement. It's a tougher and improved sequel to the TzHaar Fight Cave minigame. Entering the Fight Kiln for the first time requires a one-time payment of a fire cape. After this, the kiln may be played as many times as desired for the rewards - a choice of a TokHaar-Kal or 5x uncut onyx. Unlike the typical 63 waves of the Fight Cave, the Fight Kiln only has 37 waves. To reach the end of the minigame, players must fight a total of 7 TokHaar-Jad - who function in much the same way as the standard TzTok-Jad - before being faced with their final challenge; the gigantic Har-Aken. Location Spoiler Open up the teleport menu go to - Minigames - Fight Kiln Head through the Cave Entrance to start the fight. Disclaimer: Entering the Fight Kiln for the first time requires a one-time payment of a fire cape. After this, the kiln may be played as many times as desired for the rewards - a choice of a TokHaar-Kal or 5x uncut onyx. Monsters Spoiler TokHaar-Hur Level: 100 Total Count: 20 Attack Style: Melee Weakness: Water spells Notes: By far the weakest creature in this minigame, it hardly does any damage and can be killed quickly. Using magic to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Xil Level: 140 Total Count: 8 Attack Style: Range Weakness: Crush Notes: Using melee to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Tok-Xil Level: 200 Total Count: 46 Attack Style: Range and Melee Weakness: Crush Notes: Using melee to kill it is recommended, and it should also be the first priority to kill in most cases (unless it is trapped). TokHaar-Mej Level: 160 Total Count: 27 Attack Style: Magic and Melee Weakness: Bolts Notes: It attacks with magic and melee (when in melee range). Always stand at least a square away from one. Using ranged to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Ket-Dill Level: 120 Total Count: 8 Attack Style: Melee Weakness: Water spells Notes: It needs to be hit with a rune pickaxe or better anywhere between 2-5 times to remove its armour. The TokHaar-Dill's special attack is able to hit through the invulnerability crystal. Pickaxes in your tool belt will also work at chipping away at the armour. Remember: To add a rune pickaxe or better to your tool-belt! Then it will automatically remove its Armour. TokHaar-Ket-Zek Level: 400 Total Count: 23 Attack Style: Magic and Melee Weakness: Bolts Notes: It should be dealt with as soon as possible since it hits very accurately even when praying against its attack style. Using ranged to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Yt-MejKot Level: 300 Total Count: 30 Attack Style: Melee Weakness: Water spells Notes: It has high strength, so trapping it or using the appropriate protection prayer is recommended. Using magic to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Yt-MejKot Level: 180 Total Count: 5 Attack Style: Melee Weakness: Water spells Notes: It is not as dangerous as its combat level suggests, but nevertheless it should be trapped before killing it (use Protect from Melee otherwise). Using magic to kill it is recommended. TokHaar-Jad Level: 780 Total Count: 7 Waves: 10, 20, 30, 34, 35, 36 Attack Style: Melee, Magic and Range Weakness: Nothing Notes: Like TzTok-Jad, it is strongly advised to switch prayers to block its attacks. Small amounts of damage (~100) will be dealt through prayer, however, so healing between prayer switches is recommended to keep life points high. It is recommended to eliminate other monsters before facing TokHaar-Jad. If that is counterproductive, make sure that other monsters do not interfere with the fight. Unlike the Fight Cave variant, they do not summon any Yt-HurKot. Attack moves: Melee: TokHaar-Jad slams its fist, without delay, into those who come close to melee him. When it is not using any of its other attacks, Protect from Melee should be on at all times. The melee attack has a faster attack rate than the magic and ranged attack. Magic: TokHaar-Jad slides its rear right foot back, stand up on its hind legs, and shoots a fireball after about half a second. It inhales and growls loudly while rearing up, so listen for it. Protect from Magic needs to be activated while it is sliding its foot back or rearing up because after it begins to breath fire it will be too late. Ranged: TokHaar-Jad slams its forward legs on the ground, causing cracks on the ground and generating yellow shock waves. Soon afterward a boulder falls on the player (it is not possible to evade this boulder by running). When its legs crash on the ground, a muffled boom will be heard; the audio occurs before the damage is calculated and is far louder than the Magic attack, so those with quick reflexes should be able to easily discern between the two and switch to the correct prayer. This attack is also fairly slow, with an attack speed of two. Final Boss Har-Aken Level: 800 Total Count: 1 Wave: 37 (Last wave) Attack Style: Melee, Magic and Range Weakness: Nothing Notes: The final boss of the Fight Kiln, it attacks with numerous magic and ranged tentacles. It can only be defeated by killing its head. The tentacles can be attacked, but the head will appear regardless. Tips: Don't bother attacking the Tentacles, just pray for magic and focus on the head when it appear. Crystals Spoiler In some waves you can obtain lava crystals, which grant certain "power-ups" usable only in the Fight Kiln. Only one crystal can be activated at a time, so the effects cannot be combined. When a crystal is used, the appropriate stat is boosted. It is recommended to pick up the following crystals: Invulnerability, Constitution and Restoration. Others will just occupy inventory space and are NOT needed throughout the fight. Invulnerability crystal should be used on wave 36. One Constitution crystal is recommended to save for Har-Aken and restoration crystals are useful whenever your life points and prayers are low. Invulnerability Offers complete invulnerability for 30 seconds. It does not work when TokHaar- Ket-Dill uses its special attack, as the damage dealt by it is typeless. Damage will still be received if the crystal is activated after a monster has already done its attack animation. Waves: 1, 13, 25 Restoration Fully restores prayer points and life points. Waves: 3, 15, 27 Magic Boosts Magic by 50% for 3.5 minutes but also significantly reduces Defence, Strength, and Ranged. Waves: 5, 17, 29 Ranged Boosts Ranged by 50% for 3.5 minutes but also significantly reduces Defence, Strength, and Magic. Waves: 7, 19, 31 Strength Boosts Strength by 50% for 3.5 minutes but also significantly reduces Defence, Ranged, and Magic. Waves: 9, 21, 33 Constitution Boosts Constitution by 50% (rounded down to the nearest hundred) for 3.5 minutes. When the Constitution crystal wears off, the user is healed to full health. Waves: 9, 21, 33 Fight Spoiler Full Fight Kiln Guide by @Noobs Own Waves Spoiler Interactive map link The wiki page has an amazing Interactive map which will display all the spawn locations. Pay extra attention to where Jad/s spawns. Jad Waves Spoiler TokHaar-Jad Level: 780 Total Count: 7 Waves: 10, 20, 30, 34, 35, 36 Attack Style: Melee, Magic and Range Weakness: Nothing Notes: Like TzTok-Jad, it is strongly advised to switch prayers to block its attacks. Wave 20 Stand northbound, wait for the npcs to get close and kill the Ket-Zek first then Jad. Wave 30 Stand northbound, wait for the npcs to get close and kill the Yt-MejKot first then Jad. Wave 34 Stand northbound, wait for the npcs to get close and kill the Yt-MejKot first then Tok-Xil and last Jad. Try to kill the Mejkot as fast as possible Wave 35 Stand southbound, try to trap the mejkot and the jad, then kill the Ket-Zek and Tok-Xil. Then proceed and kill the others. Or you can stay north bound but remember to pray switch when tanking the Jad. Attention: Stay south this wave not north! Tip: Invulnerability Crystal can be good if you're struggling on this specific wave as there are many NPCs Wave 36 Stand northbound, wait for the npcs to get close then go one step back and kill one of the jad, then rinse and repeat on the other. Tip: Invulnerability Crystal can be good if you're struggling on this specific wave, but usually if done correctly only one jad should attack you. Drops Spoiler The TokHaar-Kal-Ket serves as a stronger version of its predecessor, the fire cape, and currently offers the largest melee strength bonus of any cape. The TokHaar-Kal-Mej has the highest magic strength bonus of any cape. It also allows the user to fight ice strykewyrms as of 1 July 2014 (in which they retain the fire cape bonus). It is therefore the best cape to use while fighting ice strykewryms, as they take double damage from fire spells. The TokHaar-Kal-Xil is a high-level range cape obtained by completing the Fight Kiln, using Ranged for the majority of the activity. It currently offers the strongest ranged strength bonus of any cape, even surpassing the Max cape, Completionist cape and Ava's alerter. You'll also have the option instead of claiming any capes you can claim 5x Uncut Onyx's Shrimpy is a miniature version of Har-Aken that can be unlocked as a pet from a volcanic shard, which is obtained as a reward from killing Har-Aken. One of the best looking pets in-game in my opinion. Obtaining all unique drops will unlock the title, Kal-Haar-Xil [Name]. Kim
Awesome guide, this will be good for me when I am attempting (again) to get Kill capes. I know you get 5x uncut onyxes, but rather get capes first, focus for log and pet, and then go for onyxes after. Thanks for the guide, good work to you and the others! Nev3r
Very detailed, perhaps too much for a rsps though, would've liked to see a recommended gear/inventory setup for each combat style
